My Totally Awesome Question of the Giveaway is romantic:

Are you in love?

If yes:  Share with us a drop of your love story...

If no:  Share your dream love...

My story:  I was 27 when I met my Cool, Man, which required some waiting, I assure you. It was nearly love-at-first-sight... or at least, it was pitter-patter, OMG, run-the-other-way at first site. I was pretty good at waiting, but not so good at not waiting by then, if you can imagine.

We were engaged at 7 weeks, married 5 weeks later (much to my mother's distress. In retrospect, that was sort of fast to throw a wedding together.) I don't remember a day of our first year. Except I got fired from my job, for some reason.  Ha!

Now it’s your turn… don’t be shy!!

  1. I am, sadly not in love. My dream love wouldprobably be somebody who understood and accepted me as i am, without trying to change me. It would probably also be important that we could be able to connect to each other

  2. Yes, I am in love. I met my love at my sister's house as he was working with my brother in law. I was 17 at the time. I was staying with her alot in those days. He would come to pick up my brother in law every morning at 5:30 am and would always irritate me until I woke up, needless to say, I couldn't stand him. If I knew he was coming, I would leave, LOL. I still do not know what happened to make me fall in love with him. That was 16 years and 2 kids ago. I love my husband more today than yesterday (cheesy, I know), but I didn't know TRUE love actually existed.

  3. First of all - yes, everything in life is improved with love and chocolate. Sadly I'm not in love right now, but as long as I have people who love me in my life (also known as family and friends) I am happy anyway. Love can be shown in many different ways, can't it?

To describe my dream love isn't the easiest thing actually. I don't expect a lot, but it seems as if the things I expect are already way too much.
I need someone who is really interested in me, who cares for me and for what I think and fell. I need someone who is honest. I need someone that I can talk with about almost anything and that I can laugh with. Most people or love interests, however you call them, seem not to be able to fulfill the talking about almost anything-thing though. Weird, isn't it? ;)

  4. Yes, I am in love today, but not in a romantic way. You see, my Love isn't human. I'm "in love" with my Creator, my Savior, and my God. Sometimes I wish for that passionate, romantic love that I see others share, but for now I am content to hold fast to my God, and wait for Him to send me "Mr. Right", a.k.a. as a man I can respect and love for the rest of my life. This may sound strange to some people, but I'm happy. Thanks for doing this giveaway, I'm really enjoying your blog! Will keep following you for sure :-) Have a great Valentines Day!

  5. I am in love with the man who took me out on a blind date 21 years ago. The date was meh, but the 'lets be friends' and grow it into love was wonderful.

Thanks for participating in the hop and for the giveaway opportunity.

  8. I met my husband at church. I had just ended a bad relationship and swore I wasn't going to get involved. I met this really sweet guy, but I couldn't remember his name. I called him "my buddy" for several weeks before I got up nerve to ask another friend what his name was. We were officially "not" dating, but within a year, we finally admitted that we were dating and a few months later got married. After 20 years, we're going strong!

  9. Does having a crush whom you can never have count as love, haha?
Because I currently have a crush on my best friend's crush, so he's pretty much off-limits. :/
I hope i'll eventually get the perfect guy though. <3

  10. Yeap, for 35 years now! Met him when I was dating someone else. The someone else was late and this tall--6'6" curly haired, dark & handsome, lanky guy came up and asked me to dance. The rest was history!

  18. Yes, I'm in love :)
I met my fiance working at a movie store. At first his friends (who's really boring, bigoted, and arrogant) really liked me, and once I got to know M, I figured all hope was lost. But here were are nearly three years later (in one week!) and we're getting married in the summer.
He never actually proposed. We talked about getting married for a solid year, went over every tiny, minute detail until we were sure we were on the same page. Then we bought the ring together. I wouldn't have had it any other way <3

  24. This is one of those periods of time I spend not even liking anyone! I hate my scedule. So to answer the question no, I am not in love with anyone, except maybe life itself :P
My dream love...I don't exists...cause I always change my mind about what I want, but I always like people who have a vision and are born to lead (althouhg I'd never follow them). So my fream love is someone I could never be with...
Hmmm...writing this down, I realize I am kind of doomed. :P

  36. I'm not in love right now, but if I was... I imagine it's going to be like friendship gone astray. Like the feeling of having a best friend, only closer, deeper. Like being used to having someone by your side so much that when they're gone just for a while, you feel physical pain.

Yeah, that's got to be it! :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I am not in love but if I were I'd want someone who likes me for me, someone who laughs at what I say, someone who gets me. :)

  38. In talks of love I think I can call myself hopeless romantic... I'm currently in love with the way I live my life. People somehow only thinks of romantic things when love is being talked about... love for me is something you feel, something that makes you happy and needless to say I can say that I'm in love... with everything that turns out in my life right now. Being in love is being happy and by being happy you love yourself :)

  41. I met him through mutual friends. He was a Dutchie over in the UK. We ended up getting our bodies inked together and he worked up the courage to hold my hand while the tattooist assaulted my hip. Aww. After that we got drunk, then he took me back to his hotel room and the rest, as they say, is history! We've been together for 5 years now, living together for 3. I even left my country to go live in his!

  42. Yes, I am in love. We met online and when I called to set up the date he sounded so unenthusiastic I almost canceled, but I had a meeting that ran really late and he called me wondering where I was and seemed so upset by my not being there yet that I felt that I had to come. I knew I liked him within 15 minutes when he was talking about calculus and after that things progressed to love.

  75. I can't tell if what I've felt before was really the 'I'm in love' feeling because I'm just 16 but it felt the same thing to me. I like to hang out with the guy and make him smile or laugh although every time I try to talk to him it feels as though he feels awkward whenever I'm around & now we aren't on the same school anymore so I guess I'm trying to suppress my feelings even harder though sometimes I caught myself staring into nothing thinking of him. It sounds lame but I guess in love there are no lame things. :)

  80. There is a boy (well, I guess when you're 27 you're a man) whom I have a crush on. How do I describe him. He's tall, Christian, engineer, country boy. He's a cool guy. I just haven't told him I like him, yet. I want to, but I get too shy when I'm around him.

    ReplyDelete
  81. No, I am not in love with someone else but with myself. But, hey! how are you supposed to LOVE someone else when you don't LOVE yourself First?
But don't take me bad; I DO believe in love.
I believe in that strong shaking force that takes your soul out of your body, in recognicion of your lover's soul, long lost but never forgotten. When your whole frame's shaking, the precise moment everything changes because you, that other person & the universe are connected once again.
Yeah, its a milisecond & you have to be smart enough to regognize it, but, oh dear, it's worth it.
    & I know it's real.

  82. I'm only seventeen, and I've never been in a relationship before. But I have a mega crush on one of my friends and he's just...wonderful. He's the only person who can make me laugh, even if I've been absolutely sobbing three seconds before talking to him, and he always makes me feel like somebody cares about me. I've only ever talked to him online and we don't live in the same state, which most people find weird, but I feel like he knows me better than anybody else. (:

  83. I'm in love with my husband, and have been since we first met seven years ago. We have our ups and downs like everyone else, but every time I see him being a great dad to our 3 year old, I love him a little bit more each time.

  84. Yeppers, I love my hubby (but don't tell him that LOL). We met back in 1999 when it wasn't yet "cool" to talk to strangers on the internet. A friend and I were cruising the AOL profiles (AOL, remember those days?) and saw this one profile that said "Hobbies: looking at myself in the mirror saying hey you, you're a stud." We just had to see who this loser was so we asked for a pic. He sent one, and when we didn't respond to it he wouldn't leave us alone. Turned out he lived just two miles down the street and had recently dyed his hair orange (my favorite color!) so we decided to do a drive-by viewing and check him out. Well, we started hangout out and one thing led to another and now we have been married for almost 12 years with two little minions. However, I didn't find out until a year or two after we were married that he told his family we met because I drove past him and thought he was hot so I stopped to talk to him. Uh, thanks dear lol.

  85. Yep, I am married to the most amazing person. My spouse and I were friends for over a year before we discovered what ALL of our friends already knew (and kept annoyingly telling us) - that we were in love.

While we fuss and fight like any "normal" couple, I wouldn't trade the last 16 years for anything on this planet (or any other!).

We have survived cancer, death of friends, death of loved ones, hurricanes and snow storms... and are living happily ever after with our Cairn Terrier and Cat!

    Thanks for asking....

  86. I met my boyfriend online two years back and while he lives in Colombia, South America and I live in Wisconsin, I wouldn't trade him for the world. So far he's come here once, at the end of last summer, and stayed for three months. The time spent without him is one of the most difficult things I've had to go through, but he plans on coming here to further his education in 2014 or so. Unfortunately, things aren't going well for my family and we don't have a stable income, so I have no way to visit him like we were hoping. Waiting to be together is the worst and I will never take our relationship for granted like I've seen many others do.

Well I added people trying to make friends and for once my fiance added someone he didn't know. Something he never does. And from there we grew from good friends to a great relationship. Where I was the first one to make a physical move, something I never do and I was the first girl he asked out.
I cherish every day I have with him because I know love can be rare.

In fact, he loves to tell the story of one of the first time's he approached me (at an anime club we both attended) where I apparently ran away from him as fast as I could. I don't remember that at all, though I have no doubt he is correct. I had real issues talking to people I didn't know well. Eventually we started talking at work and a bit online. Then I was trying to get my best friend to buy me an expensive birthday present, and he refused, telling me to ask the other person I was talking to online to get it for me. I did, and he said no, but offered to take me out for dinner for my birthday. We've been a couple ever since.

  96. I used to be in love but it wasn't right. I am just getting out of a bad breakup after 3 1/2 years, so not to be a downer but I am having a hard time imagining a perfect love right now.

  97. Well, I guess. I mean, I really really like someone right now, but not like I love him or anything. Sort of. Actually, he's my brother's bestfriend, and he doesn't even know, yet.

Well this guy has been my brother's bestfriend since childhood, and my family knows him for years. I didn't like him back then, but now, after 2 years we moved to a new house. It turns out; he's just a couple blocks away from our house. So, he often comes. From the first time I met him (after those years), I just felt really attracted to him. But, (thanks for my shyness) I never truly had a conversation with him. Everytime he comes, I just hid at my room, but occasionally I come out.

Once, we have this little scene at the rooftop. He was coming over when me and my brother was on the rooftop. So, he joined in. After some time, I thought of coming downstairs. Just when I’m about to come, I accidently step on a risky roof tile, and between their conversation, he shouted “Don’t!” Maybe I exaggerating this, but it was the happiest day of my life. I don't know what this will turn out to be. But I'm hoping it'll turn out nice.

  98. I am not in love. The fact is that I have never been in love with anyone. I am really looking forward to my first date though. There used to be boys who told me they liked me and I used to have crushes on boys. But love should be serious and I don't really want to get into a relationship before really understanding who I am loving. I truly believe that... the moment when love comes to me I would feel its magic and I would go for it.

After trying to have children for 4 years, we adopted our sweet daughter. 7 months later I was pregnant! We have 2 sweet little girls that are 16 months apart and I'm completely in love with everyone in my family.

  106. I am still inlove with a person who no longer loves me back. When we were together, i told her that if she finds someone or falls inlove with someone else, just let me know. She did. It still hurts but love sometimes means letting go. Just what i did. It's not even a year since it happened.

  113. I am in love with my husband of almost 9 years. He actually proposed to me the day after Valentine's Day because I commented once about Valentine's Day proposals being cheesy. Anyway, we me through a friend of a friend. I had gone to see my friend's band and my husband was the drummer. We hit it off right away and a few months later we were engaged, and a few months after that we were married!

  114. Sadly, I am not in love. But that's not a problem- I'm willing to wait. I just hope Mr. Right is worth the wait:) My dream love would be someone who is easygoing, gorgeous (very important!), funny, non-judgemental and accepting of who I am. I want him to be my best friend! It would be great if he loved books as much as I do *wink*.

    Thank you for this giveaway:)

    Best wishes!

  115. Definitely in LOVE. We just had our 23rd anniversary. He was my lab teacher for a college geology course & no, we didn't go out till after the class was over. So glad I chose to take geology. It was a toss up as to which science I would take since I was a business major. Thanks for the giveaway! Gloria

  116. I fell in love in 2005 with a man who just may be the most perfect male specimen to ever grace this planet. He's gorgeous, selfless, funny, charming, brave...ok so maybe he drinks too much, and takes that whole selfless thing a bit far and is, well a bit of a *whispers* manwhore...but I love him anyways! Err, unfortunately he also happens to be a fictional character on tv- Dean Winchester from Supernatural *sigh*
If loving a fictional guy is wrong, then I don't wanna be right...and I bet my tv boyfriend is hotter than yours :P

That is where our paths crossed again and now we have been married for 5 and a half years and have two beautiful girls.

  132. I don't have a love. My dream love is someone who gets my sense of humor, who loves books and sports just like me. But I don't want that someone to be exactly like me b/c that would be boring! I'm a quiet and shy person so I would like someone who's more talkative and outgoing!

    ReplyDelete
